Monis is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice revolves around storytelling, world-building, and the materialization of fictional universes. She uses character creation, narrative environments, and handcrafted media to explore connection, curiosity, and empathy, cultivating spaces where imagination becomes a tool for collective insight and meaningful exchange.
She understands the act of making as both a poetic and political gesture—one that resists fastness and reclaims slowness, joy, and play. By creating immersive, character-driven narratives, Monis invites viewers into alternate worlds that are at once strange and deeply familiar—spaces where collective imagination becomes a site for empathy, inquiry, and transformation.
Guided by intuition and a strong belief in learning through doing, my creative process is inherently exploratory. I approach fantasy as a space to be uncovered through material engagement—allowing narratives, characters, and ideas to surface organically through making. This hands-on, iterative method not only shapes the worlds I build, but also reinforces my commitment to imagination as a serious, generative tool for reflection, connection, and transformation.
